Christmas may be over but not in the hearts of the Filipinos. When we say Christmas, it's up until New Year with houses and other establishments still decorated with parols (traditional Christmas lanterns of the Filipinos). A parol signifies the star the three wise men used and guided them in search of Baby Jesus in Bethlehem when HE was born.
In the Philippines, parols are seen as early as November hanging majestically in Filipino homes, malls, etc. In fact even street posts are adorned with colorful and beautifully made parols. These creations are the greatest expression of Christmas spirit of the Filipino people, and probably the most popular Christmas ornament as well.
