The year 2013 is a very good year to look forward to for the Philippines. This once unknown country in some parts of the world is becoming a hot travel destination for serious divers and beach bums all over the world; predicting that 2013 is going to be big for the country's tourism industry.

A must see places mentioned in the article are Bicol, a province in the Visayan region where travellers can swim with huge but gentle whale sharks; Siargao, perfect for deep-sea fishing; and of course Palawan, which according to them, is a package that tick all the boxes if talking about palm-fringed white-powder beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and natural lagoons for wild swimming - protected all by UNESCO.
The article specified that the Philippines is "particularly popular among serious divers, who come for the incredible underwater life, unspoilt coral gardens with rainbow-bright fish, green sea turtles and dugongs."
And at the end of the article is a short yet powerful line that goes "Sorry, Maldives... We love you, but we've got a new flame."
My dream is to see the beaches in Palawan and the underground river too, nature loves Pinas hope we can return the favor.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I highly recommend yo visit the beaches of Palawan and the UR too. Beaches are really great especially in El Nido. Stepping onto the sand is already a way too great a feeling. How much more if you dip in its azure and clean waters?
DeleteI love the 'maldives' line.. hehe! From all the three places that you've mentioned, I've only been to parts of Palawan.. But I definitely have plans to visit Bicol and Siargao soon. And yes.. I agree that the Philippines' tourism industry is really booming.. #itsmorefuninthephilippines :)
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, and I'm glad we are taking things seriously this time. Tuloy tuloy na sana.
DeleteOh cool. This is why I love the Philippines. Hope our Department of Tourism will do their best to make our country a beautiful place for many travelers. Level up na dapat! :)
ReplyDeleteDapat level up na talaga. Wishing our tourism would mature the fastest and set aside personal interests. We should really work harder and make our country a safe place for tourists.
Delete"Sorry, Maldives... We love you, but we've got a new flame."
ReplyDeletesuch a strong statement.
Makes me feel proud that I've explored all those places mentioned already.
And I'm still not halfway through exploring Philippines
Moving statement, diba? Glad to know you've been to many provinces in the country and visited all those mentioned in the article. Marami pa. Keep visiting..
DeleteI would love to swim with the whale sharks and appreciate the beauty of Siargao and see Palawan once again. With proper promotion, Philippines can be a top tourist destination.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. If our neighbouring countries were able to do it, why can't we ? We have over 7,000 islands with us and most are gifted with paradise beauty. Waiting for it to happen....
DeleteI really love the powerful line. Philippines has many to offer and has more and better tourist attractions to visit
ReplyDeleteTwo places I would like to recommend in visiting Negros:
In Negros, particularly in E.B Magalona, we have this La Rosa del Mar Resort. On Talisay, we do also have The Ruins, which was coined as the Taj Mahal of Negros
In Negros alone, there are so many places and attractions to visit, I just sighted two. On other parts of the Philippines, there are still so many
Yes, that's riht. We have several tourists destinations, and just like Franc Ramon mentioned "with proper promotion, Philippines can be a great tourist destination."
DeleteI have just done commenting and browsing a lot of good and wonderful places to be proud of Philippines! Must start telling my foreign friends to visit! xx
ReplyDeleteOne place that needs to be promoted is Caramoan, Island. I have been there at talagang maganda ang waters doon.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I traveled around our country. This post reminds me to get out from my comfort zone and try to explore the beauty of the PH :)
ReplyDeletePhilippines is indeed one of the best travel destination. We should be proud of our country despite the bad economy
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to one day visit the beautiful Palawan. It's been on a lot of Survivor seasons [U.S.A and Sweden Survivor shows] and as a Filipino, I want to experience its beauty.
ReplyDeleteI saw that on the news I think a few nights back. And indeed its more fun in the Philippines. ^_^
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned three places in our country, but where particularly the picture is taken, it is really a must see
ReplyDeleteThere are so many places and destinations in the Philippines that a traveler would surely love, explore and will revisit because of its beauty and nice people around.
ReplyDeleteThe Philippines do have lots of beaches that can make it to the list of world's greatest wonders. After all, we are surrounded by body of water, so why not enhance it or maintain its natural beauty to attract more tourists that can be beneficial in terms of tourism and economy as a whole.
ReplyDeleteI would love to travel to Siargao this 2013.. and of course Palawan.. :)
