Palawan - World's Best Island

Mike Perez made the four judges turned last week in "The Voice Philippines. This time however, the province of Palawan (my hometown) was named The World's Best Island by Travel+Leisure magazine Tuesday. Tell me, how can I be prouder of being a Palaweno?
Inside the magical realm of the Underground River
Palawan, the paradise island located in Southern Luzon, pushed Boracay to the second spot after the latter held the title for quite a while.

The ranking was based on the survey given by the magazine to its readers from December 2012 to April 2013, with emphasis on natural attractions, beaches, activities, food, and of course the people. Boracay got 93.58 points against 95.04 which Palawan accumulated during the course of the survey.

After it was named one of the new seven wonders of nature in 2012, its popularity skyrocketed, prompting the government to add more planes to accommodate huge number of tourists flocking everyday.

Rounding out the top 10 were Bali in Indonesia, Kauai in Hawaii, Sicily in Italy, Koh Samui in Thailand and the Galapagos in Ecuador.

Way to go, Palawan!
